How competitive is guest selection? We receive a large number of guest applications and can only select those who closely align with our show’s focus, format, and audience needs. While we appreciate every application, not everyone will be selected for the show.
What topics fit the show? The Chris Hood Show focuses on practical AI strategy, real-world adoption, and governance. Expect discussions on agentic workflows, safety, ethics, and timely stories from current news cycles. We prioritize actionable insights over theoretical speculation.
Is self-promotion allowed? This isn’t a traditional promotional platform. Introduce your work only when it clarifies the discussion topic. You’ll have a brief moment at the end to share how people can connect with you, and links go in the show notes.
Is there a screening process? Yes. Before recording, we host a short screening call to ensure fit for the show. This includes mic checks, video checks, and topic approval.
How long is the recording? Plan for a 30-minute conversation. We reserve 60 minutes total for technical setup and wrap-up.
How should I prepare? Bring one current AI news story and a clear point of view on why it matters. Focus on providing one actionable takeaway listeners can apply. Review recent episodes to understand our conversational style.
What’s the format like? Unscripted, unfiltered conversations focused on solving real problems. The show is primarily audio with video recording for occasional clip sharing. Expect a natural dialogue, not a formal interview. We do not provide questions ahead of time.
What equipment do I need?

What should my space be like?
- A clean / presentable background. Something you’re ok with being seen on YouTube.
- A quite space, indoors, limited distractions.
How do we schedule the recording? After submitting the guest form, we will reach out. Approved guests receive a calendar link to book their preferred time slot.
What are your recording time slots? We have limited time openings for recording episodes and operate in Pacific Standard Time out of Los Angeles. Unfortunately, if our schedule doesn’t have an available time slot that works for you, we’re unable to add new time slots at this time.
Do you edit the recordings? No, we don’t edit recordings. The exception is if there’s a critical technical problem or major goof that needs to be removed. We’re committed to producing unfiltered and unscripted conversations about AI, so what you hear is what we recorded.
What about rights and release? By participating, you grant permission to publish the episode across all platforms (podcast apps, YouTube, website). We’ll send you promotional assets after the episode releases.
When will my episode air? Episodes typically publish within a few days of recording, depending on our production schedule and timeliness of the topic.
